What does the Foundation do?
The Grand Haven Schools Foundation (GHSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Foundation’s mission supports a quality education for area students through funding initiatives that empower learning (Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade). The GHSF’s vision is to support academic readiness, lifetime learning and success for all. Federal Tax ID 38-3218960.

Why do we need a Foundation?
The Foundation helps ensure that critical education opportunities are expanded to include all children in need and to create lasting community support.

Is the GHSF affiliated with the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation?

The GHSF is a non-profit organization with a mission and vision to support students of Grand Haven Area Public Schools. The Grand Haven Area Community Foundation (GHACF) is the center for community giving, with a breadth of mission that allows it to make grants in any charitable field of interest. Although the two organizations are separate entities, the GHSF Endowment Fund is held at the GHACF.

Who is eligible to apply for preschool scholarships?
Parents of three-year-old children in the Grand Haven Area Public Schools district that qualify based on household income.

What does the Grand Haven Schools Foundation fund other than preschool scholarships?
In addition to preschool scholarships, the GHSF funds impactful education initiatives (Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade) including large district grants, mini grants for teachers, field trip grants for Title 1 schools and new teacher classroom library grants.

How will my donations be used?
