Enhancing Learning Opportunities for Area Students
The Grand Haven Schools Foundation (GHSF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a quality education for students of Grand Haven Area Public Schools through funding initiatives that empower learning. The Foundation strives to build a community where every child has access to a high-quality education and supports academic readiness, lifetime learning and success for all.
Our GRANT INITIATIVES
Preschool Scholarship Grants
Full-tuition half-day preschool scholarships are awarded each year to area three-year-old children to attend the GHAPS Preschool Development Program. This program allows access to a quality preschool regardless of income.
District Impact Grants
These grants help support larger district initiatives. Examples include: decodable books for early elementary classrooms, math recovery training and hands on math manipulatives for elementary classrooms.
Mini Grants
Grants (up to $500) are awarded to area teachers to help provide support, enhance the curriculum and/or provide additional learning opportunities for students. (Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade)
New Teacher Classroom Library Grants
A $500 grant will be awarded for each new teacher to support building their classroom library. Access to high quality books within the classroom helps to encourage lifetime readers! (Kindergarten through 6th grade)
Field Trip Grants
A $2,000 grant will be awarded for each Title One School in the district to provide experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom.

For Parents
The Grand Haven Schools Foundation offers resources for parents such as early education benefits and preschool scholarships to ensure every child in the Tri-Cities area has access to a high-quality education.
For GHAPS Staff
The Grand Haven Schools Foundation offers mini grants to GHAPS staff members for innovative projects that enhance students’ learning experiences. The grants can be used for technology enhancements, classroom supplies, curriculum development, and staff members can easily apply through the Foundation’s website.
For Donors
The Grand Haven Schools Foundation funds preschool scholarships to ensure early education access for all children, regardless of income and supports a quality education for all students through funding initiatives that help empower learning.
